Less Is More: Why You Should Choose a Studio Apartment

March 25, 2022

Who isn’t dreaming of a walkable neighborhood with cozy retro apartments… and parking!? Look no further than the 1930s Art Deco gem, the Victoria. These classic apartments in Koreatown, Los Angeles retain so much of their original charm with their original hardwood floors and elegant crown molding. They have their old-school charm with modern renovations in the kitchens and bathroom with stainless steel appliances, butcher block counters, and a backsplash accent. They really are the best of both worlds. Plus, most of our studios have a walk-in closet, shower/tub combo, and loads of storage space.

Need more convincing? We’ve got five great reasons why renting a studio apartment is the way to go:

They’re More Environmentally Friendly

Smaller spaces mean less electricity and energy to heat or cool the room. Also, when your whole apartment is compact into one room there is no chance that you’ll forget to turn off a light and leave it on all day, burning up electricity and money, which takes us to….

They Are More Affordable

On the whole, studio apartments are just more affordable. As we mentioned, you’ll save on your electricity and energy bills but the savings don’t stop there. Rent is going to be less pricey than a one-bedroom apartment and you’ll spend less on furnishing your space. Our studios for rent have great built-in storage space but there are all sorts of creative and affordable studio apartment storage and space hacks as well.

Moving Out/In is Quick

Nobody likes moving; it’s a huge pain in the butt. The good news is, studios make for easy move-ins and move-outs. With less stuff, less furniture, and fewer nooks and crannies, studios truly are the ultimate moving hack proving that less really is more.

Locations

Maybe your budget doesn’t stretch to a one-bedroom in a great location, but it can likely include a studio.

Choosing a studio will open up opportunities to live in some of the coolest neighborhoods if you’re on a budget. And, Koreatown is one of those neighborhoods. We love Koreatown so much we wrote a whole blog about why it’s a great place to live. Check it out here, but we’ll give you a sneak preview.

Chapman Market

Chapman Market’s first claim to fame was as the first drive-thru grocery store which, while it would be super convenient, is no longer its function today. You can just feel the history of the place in the 1929 Spanish Colonial Revival architecture with its wrought iron fences and art deco touches. In Chapman Market you can hit up a cafe, restaurant, florist, salon, and a variety of retailers. It’s a fun way to spend an afternoon. It’s also conveniently located right near our Kenmore Arms building!

They’re Trendy

*Cue Zoolander Mugatu Voice* Small spaces are so hot right now.

They really are. Tiny homes, van living, and studio apartments are all the rage right now – and probably for all of the reasons we have already listed. They are more suitable for many people’s lifestyles and budgets. And with studios being so popular there is all kinds of inspiration on Pinterest & the internet as a whole, for decorating.

If you’re ready to rent a studio or junior apartment at Victoria in Koreatown, LA, you can contact our manager directly by filling out the appointment scheduler. Apartments tend to rent quickly, especially during peak rental times of summer and the new year…(as we said, they’re trendy & a truly great place to live) so make sure you act fast!
