Moving to Koreatown, Los Angeles: Life at Chateau Duval

You’ll have no problem finding Chateau Duval as it is the most distinctive building on the block. Built in 1929 as a hotel the building has been magnificently transformed into affordable studio and 1 bedroom apartments for rent in Koreatown.
One of the first things you will notice upon entering the building is the quiet and friendly atmosphere. We still have the original dark hardwood floors and unique built-ins like vanities and telephone cabinets to preserve the vintage feel of the building. These units also have a cool modern twist; faux concrete walls and updated appliances take these typical 1920’s units into the 21st century while maintaining all the charm of the previous century.
Amenities you can enjoy at Chateau Duval:
- 1920s Tudor revival architecture
- A formal lobby with a grand Italian chandelier
- Modern interiors
- High ceilings
- Original hardwood floors
- Stainless steel appliances
- A faux concrete wall in kitchens
- Vintage tile and deco lighting
- On-site laundry
- A secure gated entry
- We’re cat friendly!
- We are 5 blocks to Wilshire/Western Metro purple line
- & we are within walking distance of a major bus line
You know what they say: location, location, location, and Chateau Duval has that, and a bag of chips. But for real, you can easily get a bag of chips at the multiple convenience stores around the corner.
Here’s a little guide to some of our favorite eateries, bars, and businesses local to Chateau Duval. We know you’ll be a regular in no time.

Now Alisa evolves the traditional soul food she’s loved all her life into reimagined, health-conscious classics. The result: a menu that illustrated the versatility of soul food dishes.

The story of Pasta Sisters begins in Padova, a small town in Northern Italy, where chef Paola Da Re, her older sisters Luisa and Patrizia, and her brother Carlo used to spend their afternoons helping their mother Maria Giovanna in the kitchen.
Cooking and baking were not only Maria Giovanna’s passions, but also her way to spend quality time with her kids by teaching them recipes, sharing the importance of tradition, and encouraging their creativity.
“What I loved the most was helping my mother make gnocchi,” says Paola. “It was hypnotizing to watch her make the dough. Her movements were so precise that it looked like she was dancing.” Our gnocchi recipe is just one of the hundreds that Maria Giovanna handwrote into two diaries that are now Paola’s most precious treasures and the source of most of the Pasta Sisters’ signature dishes.
At the K-Town location, you will find all of their original dishes, along with our weekly specials. You can also purchase deli products (fresh pasta and sauces, imported cheeses, and cold cuts).
