5 Of The Best Food Trucks In Los Angeles

January 29, 2021

We just want to start by saying this was an extremely difficult decision. If you love to eat in Los Angeles, you know we are so spoiled for choice when it comes to different cuisines, restaurants, and food trucks. It was so difficult to pick just five but we did it for you because we love you… and because we are kind and generous.

Our mouths are watering when we even think about LA food trucks and if you make it to the end of this list without your stomach growling, you’re a liar.

As we said, this is far from a comprehensive list, it was truly like choosing our favorite child. Los Angeles, Ca has so much to offer. If we missed your favorite truck, let us know so we can go try it out – and maybe add it to our next list!

Richeeze Melts

Location: Truck Finder

What Is It?: Sorry to our vegan friends, but this food truck is all about the cheese. Grilled cheese to be more exact. Richeeze Melts is the culmination of the want for an amazing grilled cheese sandwich that we all loved as kids.

The guys who started it was sitting around talking about why there weren’t enough places to get a good grilled cheese sandwich and then thought, you know what, we can fix that. Richeeze was born and thanks Gouda-ness for that. If you haven’t checked out these gourmet food trucks, today’s the day.

Location: Truck Finder

What Is It?: Trang the creator and owner of Cafe Vietnam, was born and raised in Nha Trang – Vietnam. Nha Trang is a beach town that is well-known for its fantastic cuisine, gorgeous beach, and lively culture.

After living half her life in Los Angeles, California, she started craving an authentic Vietnamese neighborhood restaurant and an authentic slow drip “Cafe Vietnam” It became her dream to open the Cafe Vietnam food truck in Los Angeles.

Some of the foods Trang misses the most from her hometown are fresh fluffy banh mi and braised pork belly rice bowl. She also provides delicate iced Vietnamese coffee as well as so many other fantastic Vietnamese dishes.

Baby’s Bad Ass Burgers

Locations: Truck Finder

What Is It?: Bad Ass Burgers is the love child of former New York restauranteur Erica Cohen and event planner Lori Barbera. Erica is a hardcore foodie and Burgermeister who has always been on the hunt for the perfect cheeseburger and realized she’d have to do it on her own.

Lori has produced dozen of events for celebrities and companies such as Comedy Central and Paramount. Together they created Baby’s Bad Ass Burgers which can be found around town and feeding hungry event goers.

The Poutine Brothers

Locations: Truck Calendar

What Is It?:  Poutine Brothers has brought Canada’s national dish, poutine, to California. If you don’t know what poutine is, it’s a base of double-fried french fries topped with cheese curds, gravy, and sometimes meat.

They even source their cheese curds from Wisconsin – which is second best to Canada but unpasteurized cheese isn’t allowed to be shipped internationally.

Poutine Brothers was founded by Chris and Matt, two brothers who grew up playing club hockey and frequently touring throughout Canada. As kids, they discovered a meal in which french fries are a key ingredient… and it was love at first bite. They developed the concept for Poutine Brothers as adults, and after a test run among friends, realized they had a business opportunity on their hands. They promptly quit their corporate jobs in marketing and accounting, and Poutine Brothers was born.

They have all kinds of creative takes on Poutine like their short rib poutine or one that is inspired by Chicken Tikka Massala.

The Taco Cartel

Locations: Posted on Social Media

What Is It?: The Taco Cartel food truck brings back the basics of a taco truck, but their food is anything but basic. They have fun twists on their menu items as well as unique, unexpected, and authentic flavors. They have their signature tacos but also test our new ideas every day. They will always have something new.

Their desserts are also unique with foods like Hot Cheetos Corn on the Cob and Buñuelo chips.

Hungry yet? We are. That taco truck is calling our name.
