Top Five Things To Do in Koreatown, LA for Galentine’s Day

March 6, 2020

One of our favorite made-up holidays is here: Galentine’s Day! A day meant to shower your female friends with more love and appreciation than usual, Galentine’s Day is typically celebrated on February 13th but we think any day can be Galentine’s Day. We curated five fun things you can do in K-town with your gals without having to go too far from your apartment in Koreatown, LA

Grab a drink or three at The Normandie Club. If you live in the Rosetta, one of Urban LA Living’s apartments with a view in Koreatown, LA, you can easily walk to The Normandie Block after you get all glammed up. This community cocktail bar in the heart of Koreatown is cozy and relaxed that can give just the setting you need to start your Galentine’s night out. The Normandie Club also has friendly bartenders and their Old Fashioned, Spritz and 50/50 martini are a must-try.

Make fun memories and sing your hearts out at karaoke. Take lots of embarrassing videos, too! Recital Karaoke and Young Dong (YD) Karaoke are close to the Casa California or Kenmore Arms.

Stay in and have a chill wine and cheese night. Simply pick your favorite wines and whip up cheese plates and appetizers that go with them. Western Liquor and Spirits and Catalina Liquor in Koreatown, LA have friendly staff and carry a wide array of wines. Rice crackers, grapes, apple slices, olives, dried walnuts, and candied nuts are some of the appetizers that go well with both red and white wine. As for the cheese, it’s hard to go wrong with cheddar, gouda, feta, and brie. If you live in an apartment with a view of downtown from Koreatown, LA, you can have a pleasant Galentine’s Day while enjoying the city views indoors.

Enjoy some Korean BBQ together. Not into something light like wine and cheese? Go for Korean BBQ on Galentine’s Day instead. If you live in Villa Veneto, one of Urban LA Living’s apartments in Koreatown, LA, Quarter Korean BBQ is close by. Named one of the must-try Korean BBQ spots by LA Mag, Quarters Korean BBQ offers high-quality meat by the quarter pounders. You can also choose cocktails from their full bar in case you don’t like soju to go with your Korean BBQ.

Spend a night in for a classic slumber party. Ask your favorite friends to bring their favorite onesie and do each other’s hair and nails while catching up. Face masks are also always more fun with other women! We love Kiehl’s soothing hydration mask, but you can also choose from the masks available at Palace Beauty Metro along Wilshire Boulevard.

You don’t need to spend much just to make extra special memories on Galentine’s Day. You can make your own cocktails (these recipes of mimosa and sangria are easy to follow!), use YouTube for karaoke, or prepare your homemade Korean BBQ with your friends instead of going out.

You don’t have to go too far from your apartment in Koreatown, LA just to have a blast on Galentine’s Day with your favorite ladies. Let us know in the comments how you spend this holiday or tag us with your photos!
